How to get a medical marijuana ID card in Ohio?

All qualified and approved patients must be registered in the Ohio Medical Marijuana Program to receive their medical marijuana registration or ID card. After you qualify, your doctor will create your profile in the Patient and Caregiver Registry. Next, complete your registration through the Patient and Caregiver Registry by paying the $50 activation fee. New patients receive a new card. Current patients receive a renewed MMJ card after requalifying.

When will I receive my medical marijuana card?

Cards are issued by Ohio’s State Board of Pharmacy. Once you are registered by the physician, your virtual card is ready instantly. Once you are approved for an ID card, you must pay the $50 registration fee. Your card is then emailed to you. You can print it or just download the digital image for use right away.

How long does my medical marijuana ID card last?

Cards are generally issued to last for various periods. For example, 90 days, 180 days, 270 days, 360 days. Patients are required to activate their card at the State Registry website. You can shop at any licensed Ohio dispensary once the card is active.

How much medical marijuana can I possess?

A registered patient or caregiver can possess an amount of marijuana that does not exceed a 90-day supply. This is divided into two 45-day fill periods where you can buy a supply of dispensary cannabis. The second supply can only be purchased within the next 45-day period. Note that patients can only legally possess the supply purchased through an approved dispensary.
